What is HDX?

The Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX) is OCHA’s open platform for sharing humanitarian data. HDX’s objective is to make humanitarian data easy to find and easy to use for analysis.

What is humanitarian data?

3. Situational data (needs or damage assessments, logistics)

Why is metadata important?

  • Searchability: Good tags and descriptions make your data more discoverable
  • Trust: Our users have told us over and over how important it is to know how much they can trust the data.
  • Fitness for use: The methods used to collect or process data may influence the suitability of the information for different purposes. Methodology!
